The most famous Ukrainian films. Free movie nights were organized in Lviv

Film critics of the Oleksandr Dovzhenko National Center organized free film evenings in Lviv.

The best films in the history of Ukrainian cinema can be seen at screenings at the Lviv Art Center. The cycle will open with the film  Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors.

"We show the most famous films, such as Earth and the Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors. We show them through a certain optics, how these films came about, why the directors said everything that way. After all, the last 100 years have been highly censored and influenced by Russia. Now we have to filter it out, "said Oleksandr Telyuk, head of the Dovzhenko Center's film archive, at a briefing at the Ukraine Media Center.

Telyuk together with his colleagues Arseniy Knyazkov and Stanislav Bytyutky will moderate such film meetings.

"From the first day of the war, we tried to be actively involved in the activities of the city and help to develop culture. After all, even during the war, culture is our identification in the world. And one of those who came to us from internally displaced persons were film critics from the Dovzhenko Center, "said Liana Mytsko, director of the Lviv Municipal Art Center.

Film screenings take place on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 6:30 p.m. Visitors are asked to bring identification documents. Discussions take place after the films.
